One drop can become many drops, many drops can become a river. The Goccia di Luce (Light Drops) lamp was created with this in mind. "The shape of the lamps was created by breaking up a large digital drop of water into many small droplets. These droplets also perforate the primary drop shape of the lamp and represent the natural course of the water, as small droplets eventually turn into a powerful flow of water," explains South Tyrolean designer Martin Oberhauser. Like each drop, each lamp is unique and together they embody a "flow of light". "The large drops of water thus symbolize the partners and the small drops the participants of the festival. The lamps set up by all participating partners and businesses on the grounds of the city festival as decorative accent lamps for visitors express unity, cohesion and the desire to protect nature," says Markus Huber, Chairman of the Brixen Tourismus Genossenschaft.

studiooberhauser has now received an award at the "LIT Lighting Design Awards 2021" for the design of this innovative project. The LIT Design Awards, based in Los Angeles (CA) - USA, recognize the efforts of talented international lighting designers and lighting engineers. The LIT Awards were created to recognize creativity and innovation in the fields of lighting design and lighting applications. studiooberhauser joins the ranks of other LIT Awards winners such as Karim Rashid, CENTRSVET and Ross Gardam.
